USA MKII TALKER

Manufacturer: Mc Cord Radiator Manufacturing Company

Starting in 1940, the US Navy incorporated this type of "special" hull for the crews of warships, and it replaced the M1917 A1 that was also used in the US Navy. This helmet wasused by radio operatorsassigned to the artillery pieces and on the bridge, increasing their protection in combat since due to its design it allowed the use of headphones inside, as well as the use of the gas mask if necessary.

The design of this helmet was by the sculptorBeaver Edwards, and his wife, at the request of theUS Navy's Bureau of Ordinance.

At first the hull was painted greenish brown with the characteristic cork texture, to avoid reflections like the one used in the M1 model (later after the war the texture was of the sand type), and it was from 1942 that it was painted in bluish gray or light gray
