AUSTRALIAN MKII
(MKIII)
MK II model
Year 1942
Australia, during World War II, continued to use the same model of helmet that it used during World War I, but with the new interior and the new MKII model chinstrap. Just as the English model incorporated an antimagnetic bead on its edge, the Australian model, due to the difficulties in manufacturing the bead, did not have it. The new helmet received the name MKII (same as the English model).
In 1941 the chinstrap attachment plate was modified with a new shape with right-angled corners, model MKIII, because of this, the Australian helmet is also called MKIII (not to be confused with the English MKIII modelturtle).

The finish on Australian hulls is a greenish khaki sand texture.

The model in the collection has the year 1942 engraved on both plates of the MKIII chinstrap attachment, and on one of them. On the vault, in ink, the LCo stamp with a vertical arrow. It also has the numbering 1541 stamped on it, which could be the manufacturing batch. Hull color is greenish khaki with sand texture finish.
