DENMARK M23/40

Manufacturer: A/S GLU D & MARSTRANDS

Starting from World War I, the Danish Army was equipped with the M23 model helmet, a model that was used until the German army occupied the country on April 9, 1940.

As of this date, helmets continued to be manufactured to supply the army, which at the moment was not dissolved (until 1943) as it was a "peaceful" occupation, but these helmets, manufactured from 1940, were in fact a variant of the model 23 , which received the name of M23/40. Some differences can be seen in these new helmets, basically due to the material restrictions caused by the German occupation: the frontal emblem disappears and is replaced by a rivet, and the wingspan is smaller, decreasing about 10 mm.
