CROSS TO VALUE

1944 version of theCross to Valorfrom Poland. The Cross was awarded only in times of war and for acts of bravery in combat and was only awarded to members of the armed forces. First established in 1920, the Moscow-controlled Polish People's Republic government reinstated the Cross of Valor in 1944, with most awarded to the Polish Armed Forces fighting on the Eastern Front with the Polish Army. Red.

They differ from those of 1920, in that the eagle does not wear the crown. There were  some dated in 1943, also granted by the communist government  and as a curiosity they have the crowned eagle.
