Once the invasion of France by German troops was finished and with the signing of the armistice (June 25, 1940), the government in exile was created and was called Free France, and also forming part of it, its armed forces which became known as the Free French Forces. (FFL, FAFL, FNFL), and that from 1943 with the merger of the French troops in North Africa would be called the French Liberation Army.
