Irish helmet of the English type MKII. Ireland did not participate in World War II, but when it broke out its army replaced the outdated helmet M27Vickers by the English MKII type and was prepared for  the case of going to war, passing the country to be in a situation known as_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-138bad5The Emergency. 

 

During this period the Irish Army was supplied with allied war material. Mainly from Great Britain. An example of this is the MKII helmetTommy, displayed. 

 

The helmet is painted greenish-brown, and bears the emblem of the 2nd Infantry Division with a tick mark on the front.

 

Point out that this type of helmet was used by the Irish Army until well into the '70s.
