German helmet model M40. This example was rejected for its use in combat and was destined for the use of anti-aircraft defense.luftschuftz. Helmets that were discarded for combat are distinguished by the surrounding ring at their base above the skirt.

 

The helmet is matt grayish blue (typical Luftwaffe color), and bears the frontal decal of theluftschutz (2nd design) which is slightly displaced. 

 

Some tabs on the  inner lining are somewhat damaged, the chinstrap is complete. Being a helmet that was not intended for combat, the garrison is not the M31 type.
