Russian model SSH39 helmet, this model of helmet was only made in 1939, and is the immediate predecessor of the modelSSH40.

The new model that improves the quality of steel and design, to its predecessor theSSH36, inherited its same inner lining. For the reason that caps could not be used with this interior for protection from the cold, in 1940, it was redesigned, appearing the new modelSSH40, put into service in 1942 and which will last until the Cold War. Manufacture of the SSH39 model continued until 1941.

The only difference with the modelSSH40, is the location of the rivets that hold the gasket. In the SSH39, there are 3 and they are located in the upper part of the hull, while in the modelSSH40, there are 6 located in the lower middle part.

The structure of the fastening of the lining is similar to the Italian modelM933.

The pot and the chinstrap are completely original, in which the trim has been restored as well as the front star.
