German helmet model M40. This helmet is a variant of the previous M35 design, which removes the rivet vent holes and replaces them with stamped holes.

 

The helmet is matt grayish blue (RAL 7016), and has a single side decal (Luftwaffe) as of March 21, 1940, the tricolor decal for helmets used at the front is removed. The interior is complete (model M1931). The chinstrap is surely a replica.

 

The helmet bears the manufacturer's mark on the back with the size and manufacturing batch number preceded by DN (Deutsch norm).
